LARGE SCALE INVENTORY MANAGMENT

DRONES IN INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

The use of Drones in Small, Medium and Large scale Inventory Management has grown exponentially over the last few years. Conventionally, inventory inspection has proved an exhaustive and costly process, requiring mobilisation of material and human resources and very often requires productivity “down time”.

The use of Drone applications can effect extensive inspection, serviceability reports and assets listings in an electronic format that can be converted to a geolocation report.

No production down time is required, the process is quick, requires minimal human resource input and is more accurate than conventional inspection techniques. Moreover, the technology allows for electronic record in high resolution and where required, detailed product/asset inspection can be undertaken (most notably in inspection of structures, framework, and geo mapping of sites such as might be required in quarries etc.).

“One of the great responsibilities that I have is to manage my assets wisely, so that they create value.”

Utilising Geolocation technologies, a detailed inspection of inventories and assets can be undertaken in high definition formats for use in:-
  • Audit validation of assets and stock
  • Insurance claims and annual inspection reviews
  • Assets registers
  • General management of assets and serviceability
The use of Drones can be applied within warehouse and external structures and can identify individual pallets of stock. The drone imigary provides GPS positioning of materials, inventories and equipment for application from a 3D model into a logistics positioning register/address – a seamless and highly efficient process that requires no product down time.
